Die Welt ist schön! – Porträts in Warschau
Die Welt ist schön! – What a wonderful world! – we can say! But what makes us perceive the world as beautiful? Beautiful view? A beautiful building or a beautiful painting? How do we know that „something” is beautiful or not? Over the centuries, attempts have been made to define the beauty, describe it, designate the ingredients that determine the feeling of beauty. Nobody did it, however. Although maybe we should say something completely different – everyone who tried was succeed! The understanding beauty is indefinable, extremely subjective and extremely individual. You can designate some fairly universal features and factors that we take into account when qualifying impressions and stimuli as beautiful. However, each of us uses them in a different way, according to their own feelings, each of us assigns different weights, interprets them individually. There is no room for wider discussion, but we will all agree that both the object, the source and the recipient of beauty is a human! Human is part of a beautiful world, beauty is in human activity, human psyche and relationships are one of the most important components of the beauty of our world! Let’s look at the Warsaw portraits made during one of the cool, late autumn nights. We will meet a man reading a very interesting and beautiful book, whose occupation is so devoured that he can’t see the world of God beyond the pages of his book. Among the passersby we can se through the lens an elderly lady, returning very thoughtfully to her peaceful, beautiful home. Even the lurking Ninja did not hide! Someone think their clothes and weapons are beautiful, others say beauty is in the Ninja’s grace of movements. But what among those beautiful people does der Führer do? Neither he beautiful nor has a beautiful character, and his deeds are far away from beauty? Well, beautiful is that he is gone! And, hopefully, no successor will ever be found….
Social interactions – Elephant Talk
„(…) Talk
Talk
It’s all talk
Too much talk
Small talk
Talk that trash (…)”
(King Crimson, Discipline – 1981, Elephant talk)
The basis of social interactions between people is verbal and non-verbal communication. In addition to the richness of the methods of communication of any content between people, we also can use an unlimited range of ways to express ourselves, our emotional states, senses and feelings. However, any form of interpersonal communication can be symbolically represented as a form of conversation, monologue or dialogue. But do we in everyday life use to talk? To understand each other? Everyone or almost everyone will answer firmly – YES! Is this answer always truth? In some cases – yes….
Redds in the forest!
Red is a color that is very strong, vivid, full of emotions and evoking. Good or bad emotions, depending on the context in which it occurs. In nature, it usually creates clear contrasts with the environment and almost never goes unnoticed. The symbolism of reds almost always harmonizes with the clarity of this color. It can represent a warning or an worrisome information which the human civilization has developed, and it is common in everyday life. Signs in such color are marked to be clearly cut off from the background and even express alienation from the environment. Red is the color that is identified with many social and political movements and organizations, and it symbolizes, for example, the commitment, emotionality and even rebellion. And rebelions are very often ruthlessly suppressed, trampled. Red is the color of blood and human heart, and as such is received positively by us. But when we meet with drops of blood left somewhere on something, this reds causes anxiety and fear. However, in the Christian tradition the blood reddness of the suffering, martyred Jesus is a positive symbol – consecration in the name of the good of other people, the forgiveness of evil deeds. And moreover it was meant to be a definite ending of the need for sacrifices of living beings. But can humanity (regardless of the professed religion) understand such a clear message of Life….?
Belongings
Hurray! I bought a new car! Sport-off-road with 5 wheel drive! It belongs to me!
Hurray! It was big sale, I bought a new notebook! With apple and windows! They all belong to me!
Three times I had to go to the restaurant and twice more to the cinema ….
But I got you! But finally you belong to me!
From an early age, we get into the possession of more and more new toys, things and devices. As we grow up, we learn how to acquire them, we learn to get funds, which we use every time to celebrate the mystery of possession. But where do the boundaries of possession end? Can you have someone, find that the other person belongs to us? However every relationship between two people, every social relationship to a certain extent requires the mutual dedication of a particle of one’s own personal freedom. The degree of mutual interdependence is a strictly individual matter, but it is undoubtedly even greater when the closer relations connect these people. It does not matter whether these are relationships independent of our will (family, generational) or dependent (social, partnership, marital), each relationship in a sense requires the acceptance of mutual belonging. But can we define, recognize and establish limits that separate the normal relations of interdependence from excessive subordination and limiting dependence? To what extent these limits are set by ourselves, and to what extent are they the result of the influence of the surrounding environment, how much do we get carried out by social or media propaganda by shifting these boundaries to one or to the other side? The chain can symbolize both attachment, mutual devotion and cooperation, as well as subordination, embarrassing bonds or even slavery. Discover your own chain in yor own life….
Love and Freedom
How far will you go with your true and free love, with your wish of equality, tolerance and rights if you can so easy profane portraits being so ugly for you, to outrage flags and coats of arms in the name of law, if you can so easy destroy values and symbols holy to others, if you are able to hate so hardly whenever anyone else does not want you to go so far? What or who will be next? Will you teach and convert their sick children? Will you cure them all in the name of politically correct law? Will you banish them to the closed enclaves of the Free World? Or will you exterminate all of those useless, chauvinistic creatures? But yes, you will easy find millions of proofs that all above is a LIE only! Yes, you will definitely prove purity of your mind and your good intentions! And you will call me as hardened backward, chauvinistic monster finally….
